The judge of the Court of Imperia Marta Bossi acquitted “because the fact does not exist” Marco Castoldi, aka Morgan, on trial on charges of aggravated defamation against the singer-songwriter Cristian Bugatti, aka Bugo, for what happened at the Sanremo Festival in 2020. Morgan and Bugo were competing with the song “Sincero” but were disqualified when the former Bluvertigo changed the lyrics during the performance. The case ended up in court after the complaint by Bugo who, in addition to being disqualified, felt defamed by Morgan’s statements. The prosecutor had asked for a sentence of one year and 6 months.

“Today is not my victory but that of commitment and seriousness. Both because the lawyers worked with self-denial and because trust was given to the truth, and it triumphed, as Cioran teaches: the truth ultimately always triumphs”. This is the comment of Marco Castoldi, alias Morgan, following his acquittal at the Court of Imperia from the charges of aggravated defamation against the singer-songwriter Cristian Bugatti, aka Bugo, for what happened at the 2020 Sanremo Festival.

The Milanese singer-songwriter also wanted to thank his lawyers: “congratulations to lawyers Rossella Gallo and Leonardo Cammarata”.
