Paolo Magnani led the participants from the square to the top of the Pietra di Bismantova, together with four local health professionals. Giovanni Provoli, personal trainer, had children and adults do cool-down and toning exercises, while Simona Ghittini, speech therapist, created a magical moment by teaching yoga positions under a large centuries-old tree.
Dr. Laura Magnan, general practitioner and nutritionist, spoke about how food can be a cure, explaining the picnic menu to the participants.
The participants enjoyed a salad of spelled, cherry tomatoes and green beans from cereals from the Demetra company of professors Giansoldati and Grimelli; a piece of artisanal grass made with gluten-free flour; delicious chickpea meatballs; an artisanal sandwich made of wholemeal flours and seeds, with a cream of cannellini green beans, courgettes, dried tomatoes and parmigiano reggiano from the “Casale di Bismantova” social dairy and a small bag of dried fruit, also with hazelnuts from local producers.
After feasting, the participants went down to the area adjacent to the friars’ garden to listen to the precious words of the psychologist Ameya Canovi, expert in emotional addictions and successful author.
The day was lived in the name of health, awareness and well-being.
Why was the picnic chosen as the underlying theme of the day? Picnicing in nature is not only a pleasant way to spend your free time, but also represents a unique opportunity to improve physical and mental well-being.
Spending time outdoors helps you reconnect with nature, reducing stress and promoting a sense of tranquility and inner peace.
Outdoor activities such as walking, yoga and other forms of exercise help improve cardiovascular health, increase energy levels and strengthen the immune system.
Picnics are perfect opportunities to spend time with friends and family, strengthening social bonds and creating treasured memories.
Preparing and consuming healthy food during a picnic promotes balanced eating habits, demonstrating how simple, natural foods can be delicious and nutritious.
