Arkéa B&B Hotels, Miles Scotson retires at 31: “I fulfilled my dream of becoming professional”

Even the career of Miles Scotson comes to an end with the closing of 2025. On the same day as his compatriot Alex Edmondson he said goodbye to professional cycling, even the former Arkéa B&B Hotels has announced that he will not be in the group in 2026. The closure of the French WorldTour team, in which he raced the last seasons of his career, is undoubtedly decisive. Turned professional in 2017 with BMC, Scotson he was a prominent wingman in the team for several years Groupama-FDJin which he played from 2019 to 2023. In his career he achieved two victories: the national road title in 2017 and the first stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana 2021. Not a winner, for sure, but a reliable companion.

The 31-year-old confirmed his decision with a post on his Instagram profile: “2025 ends and a big chapter in my life also closes: professional cycling. I fulfilled my dream of becoming a professional and turning my passion for cycling into a career, which took me around the world and gave me many different experiences. It has also been a roller coaster of emotions and I thank everyone who supported me along the way and those who believed in me and helped me create my path. On to 2026 and new chapters“.

In his career, Miles Scotson he has raced five Grand Tours, including three Giri d’Italia (2019, 2020 and 2022), one Tour de France (2021) and one Vuelta a España (2022), mainly supporting Arnaud Démare. His wealth of experience also includes 12 Monuments, of which 6 Milan-Sanremo, 4 Paris-Roubaix and 2 Tours of Flanders. It is not yet clear whether his future still involves a role within the world of cycling or a radical change of life.
