Sanremo it is learning to express its full potential, and not only with regards to the numerous initiatives present in the city related to music and floriculture. The sportin fact, for several months now it has been playing a prominent role in the events calendar of the Matuzian municipality thanks, among other things, to the investment of approximately €900,00.00 dedicated to the renovation of the sports facilities, and to the presence of the cycle/pedestrian path.
And it is precisely on the Cycling Riviera, in fact, that the “Walk of champions“, a “Walk of fame” dedicated to all the winners of the Milan-Sanremo. The works – entrusted to the Edilcostruzioni Srl company – will have a total amount of 78.019,00 €including VAT and security charges.
This project was born from an idea of the Tourism and Sport councilor Alessandro Sindoni who, already during the presentation of the Milan-Sanremo 2025, had mentioned that he wanted to give greater prominence to the cycling event which has now become one of the symbols of the city, both for lovers of the sporting discipline in question and for all those who travel along the cycle path every day, be they citizens, tourists or visitors.
«It is a “Walk of fame” where all the people will be present handprints – which we have already begun to collect since the last edition – of the winners of the Milan-Sanremo.», said councilor Sindoni, «It will be built on the cycle path, on the Imperatrice side, near the “Fontana” baths, where all cycling enthusiasts will be able to retrace a piece of our city’s history, through a real experiential guided tour thanks to the use of QR codes that will be installed on special panels.»
«I would also like to underline that this is only the first stage of a series of initiatives dedicated to this sport that I am in the process of completing.», continued Alessandro Sindoni, «For next year, some interesting innovations are planned regarding the area of Poggio. And next, I would also like to speak on via Romewhere every year we witness the arrival of the Milan-Sanremo. The latter, however, are still projects in the development phase on which we are working, but which we hope can materialize as soon as possible, so as to bring the sporting tradition of Sanremo even more into vogue.»
