Andrea Delogu: “The time has come to stop. I have to understand how to move forward”

Now she needs a period of reflection. The professional life that takes off (the victory at Dancing with the Stars and the success of The magic door) at the same time as the tragedy of his brother Evan’s death upset his private life. Andrea Delogu he explains it in an interview with Chi: “Now there is a moment of pause to understand where I am and what stage of my life I am in now. But I know that there are many people with me, I have learned not to be alone”.

All thanks also to the Rai1 program: “I wasn’t ready to tell myself. Those who do this job are used to interviewing others. But at Dancing at a certain point you necessarily lower your defenses, because you’re exhausted and you tell yourself.”

After all, Delogu is no stranger to transformations. Born on television in 2002 as a “letter” of the Magician Forest a Never say Sundaygrow your pane and Saturday Night Livethe Eurovision Song Contest commented with an ironic and pop tone, Life in summer live and the Tim Summer Hitshas crossed Italian television without ever allowing himself to be caged in a single role. His true home, however, he found on the radio: Radio2, above all, where he built a strong and recognizable identity with programs such as Sociopaths, The version of the two e Andrea’s versionup to the hosting of the Sanremo Festival. Without giving up forays into theater and cinema, from The seventh wave by Massimo Bonetti a The usual idiots 3 – The return.

“Hi, my name is Andrea Delogu – she introduced herself in the first episode of Dancing – in life I host television and radio programmes, I have written books and acted in some films”. A dry, almost defensive presentation, behind which however hid an out of the ordinary character, which exploded episode after episode. “Andrea the red” showed discipline, irony, fragility and determination, sharing the scene with a Nikita Perotti he has become much more than a dance master: accomplice, emotional shoulder, constant presence.

His was also a journey of memory. From the childhood spent in San Patrignano – an experience recounted several times without rhetoric – to the center of the DancingDelogu has made its history an element of strength.

The journey, however, ended abruptly after the fifth episode, with the sudden death of his eighteen-year-old brother Evan. A devastating loss that forced her to stop. Upon his return, for the ballot, Delogu chose clear, definitive words: “It happened that life has changed forever and there isn’t much to add. He is a piece of me: he was before and he is now. This is the last time I talk about my brother in front of a camera”. A clear boundary between public and private pain, reiterated with lucidity even in the following days. “My life ended with that phone call, now another one has begun. It is the world that has collapsed but is showing me that it is being rebuilt in another way.”

A tragedy experienced far from the spotlight, followed by the conscious choice to return to live and work. “I am in the world because it is good for me. I know that I made the right choice and I also want to smile again”, he explained, giving his return to the track a meaning that went beyond the race. A sentiment also shared by his father, Walter Deloguwho entrusted his emotion to social media: “My love… thanks also from Evan, he will smile from up there.” And then again: “Your little sister, as you called her, won the race, but you know it well, because you were there with her…”.

And now? Andrea Delogu promises to remain herself. Precisely for this reason he chose to stop, to take a pause for reflection away from the spotlight and the noise of success, to really listen to himself after months of living with full intensity.
