Amazon’s decision

While in Italy the project is interrupted, in the United States and the United Kingdom it continues. As the company founded by Jeff Bezos further specified, “our drone delivery projects in the United States and the United Kingdom are progressing positively, with test flights and commercial deliveries that have proven effective and well received by customers”. On the Italian front, “with over 25 billion euros invested in Italy over the last 15 years, over 19,000 direct employees in more than 60 sites distributed across the country, we continue to serve our customers in Italy and offer them an excellent shopping experience”, reiterated Amazon.

The National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) also received the official communication from Amazon. In a note. the body reports that it has “taken note of the unexpected news from Amazon which, while confirming an undisputed appreciation of the profitable work carried out together with Enac, for reasons of company policy and as a consequence of the recent financial events involving the group, has decided to start the launch of commercial operations and the request for certification as an operator in another member state of the European Union”.
