The first ITA Airways A330-900neo will take off this afternoon at 17:40 from Toulouse bound for Rome Fiumicino as AZ8949.
The aircraft with the registration EI-HJN, its name is Gelindo Bordin, its Blue Savoia paintwork intact as are the interiors designed by Walter De Silva will arrive in Fiumicino at 19:20, just a little before darkness they will descend on the Roman airport.
It is the landing in Rome of this new and innovative machine which gives a different feeling compared to the classic Airbus 330 we know. The new Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines will help the carrier in no small way by offering a quieter, more environmentally friendly and more fuel efficient product than the A330-200s in the fleet. More seats on board 291 against 256 according to Seatmaps.
Soon, in the first days of June, this aircraft will enter service towards Miami. Then there will be Delhi, New York JFK and Sao Paulo.
This aircraft is leased from ALC – Air Lease Corporation. This year, another 7 will arrive. In total, there will be 17 aircraft leased and acquired by the manufacturer.
The second aircraft with registration numbers F-WWCZ also flew today, it will receive registration numbers EI-HJO.
