Esselunga has officially communicated that all its stores will remain closed on Easter Sunday 31 March. While on Easter Monday they will be open but with reduced hours. The opening times vary from supermarket to supermarket: to make sure you find it open you can consult the search engine on the chain’s website.

LaEsse in Milan Corso Italia remains open from 7am to 9pm, the Esselunga in Via Lorenteggio from 7.30am to 10pm, the one in Viale Zara from 7.30am to 9pm. In Florence the store in Via di Novoli remains open from 7.30am to 10pm, while in Rome laEsse in via Cola Di Rienzo operates from 8am to 8pm.

Coop has signed the Ccnl for its employees. Coop hypermarkets are closed at Easter. On Easter Monday, however, each shop has its own opening hours: in this case too it may be useful to consult the chain’s web page to understand which shops are open and at what time.

For example, in Milan the Ipercoop in Piazza Lodi is open on Monday with reduced hours from 9am to 2pm, in Turin the Coop in via Livorno at Parco Dora is also closed on Easter Monday, the same thing in Bologna the DeGusto Coop Mercato point in Half.

In Rome Funari has an extraordinary opening on Easter from 9am to 8pm. Taking a look at the supermarkets in Naples, however, we read on the website that there are no extraordinary openings scheduled.

Even for Lidl supermarkets you have to search on the chain’s website if you want to be sure of finding a shop open on Easter or Easter Monday: just click on the location service on the official website. On the web page that opens you can consult time changes or extraordinary openings.
