The book ‘Tri zeirdatonda e Rubicoun’ written by Marina Seganti, a retired school director, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Marcialonga sul Rubicone, was presented in the Municipality. The first edition took place on 23 September 1973 and was won by Loris Viroli, now over seventy years old runner with various records and victories under his belt, present together with the mayor Filippo Giovannini, the deputy mayor and sports councilor Nicola Dellapasqua, the sports doctor Italo Fantozzi, Mauro Vandi for RomagnaBanca and Mario Ricci, president of Podistica Seven, organizer of the Marcialonga, of which the 50th anniversary was celebrated.
The next Marcialonga will be on Sunday with the ‘competitive’ of 14 kilometers and the recreational walk of 14.7 and 3 kilometres. The departure is at 9.30 from Piazza Borghesi, registrations will close on Thursday and will reopen on the day of the race.
The book is on sale at Edicolè and Bar Centrale, in Savignano. The author Marina Seganti said: “When I was asked to write it I answered yes because of my passion for memory and writing. I discovered the desire to live and grow in marathon runners. The runner’s motto is that ‘ There’s always another time. He doesn’t give up, he doesn’t give up. It’s a book that tells of the struggles and resistances that are however generative.”
