“Why should a crystal be able to interact with the body of a living being to the point of detecting imperceptible physical alterations? Is it a magnetic issue, a sort of “resonance” that connects all the elements of Nature? Is it just a placebo effect? Or is there something more? On a spring day Daniel Bossari was overwhelmed: during a meditation session with crystals he felt a tension in his neck. After a few weeks, in that exact spot, he discovered he had a silent disease. To understand how it was possible that the crystals had warned him even before the medicine, he set out on a journey. We literally live in a crystalline world. Sand, pebbles, rocks and mountains are an intricate labyrinth of microcrystals. According to the most recent studies, in the very core of the Earth there is silicon dioxide, that is, quartz. But crystals are also present in the animal world, in the bodies of insects and birds. We humans, on the other hand, have a deep and sacred bond with stones. Crystals are used in all the technologies that have revolutionized the world – from radios, to microchips, to smartphones – but also as amulets or talismans, elixirs and divination tools, allies in the fight for success and power. Thanks to their shape and structure that reflects the laws of the universe, some ancient traditions have considered them signs of the divine presence or representations of cosmic entities. Cristallo is the interior and physical journey that the author has made in this multifaceted world between science and mysticism, body and spirit, care and faith, in search of the truth about the powers of stones. He met courageous crystal seekers and scientists from the CNR; he delved into the field of biophysics, history and cultural anthropology. Crystals, in fact, are a frontier territory, a suspended bridge towards an arcane and enigmatic transcendental dimension. That spring day Bossari was a convalescent, the next an explorer.”
