Gallese, “May of Books”: membership of the national initiative renewed

If you read ti lib(e)ri it provides inspiration for a series of interesting meetings organized by the Municipality and the signatories of the Reading Pact.

On the initiative of the Department of Culture, the Municipality of Gallese joins for the third year the reading promotion campaign Il Maggio dei Libri, now in its 14th edition and promoted by the Center for Books and Reading and the Ministry of Culture. The theme of the campaign, If you read ti lib(e)ri, reiterates in a concise but effective way the role of reading as a key and essential element for the cultural and social growth of the person and among the many opposing freedoms it promotes that which does not provide opposites nor inversions: that of thinking.

Thus comments the Deputy Mayor Amedoro Latini – “We continue to join this national initiative because we strongly believe in the importance of returning to reading on paper. This year we will inaugurate the first book exchange points that are always open. We continue the path started 3 years ago, achieved also thanks to our children from the Universal Civil Service and enriched by the ideas of the signatories of the local Reading Pact, in which we will continue to invest time and resources”. Inspired by the theme of the campaign, the Municipality goes beyond its usual spaces by involving the signatories of the Pact for Reading and the entire community within a program of public initiatives, workshops dedicated to children and adolescents, book presentations and meetings for schools, with the aim of strengthening the commitments undertaken in the Pact and promoting open and inclusive relationships.
