Fairphone 6 conquers IFIXIT: 10 and ethical philosophy reparactability

Fairphone 6 he got a score of 10 out of 10 in the IFIXIT disassembly testconfirming once again a point of reference for those who love to buy ethical and sustainable. Fairphone smartphones, in fact, are designed to last, easily repairable and developed in compliance with ethical and environmental criteria.

It is the fifth consecutive model that obtained maximum votes in the Teardown conducted by Ifixit, a result so far never achieved by no other smartphone.

Compared to previous models, Fairphone 6 introduces a more compact design and an even more modular structure. Although the battery is no longer removable without the help of toolshowever, it is easily replaceable: about two minutes are enough and a simple Torx T5 screwdriver to carry out the operation.

The phone is in fact assembled with only seven screws, without the use of glue -except for the motherboard, the only component whose DIY replacement is not recommended.

One of the distinctive elements of the fairphone 6 is the possibility of replace most of the components with extreme ease: from the USB-C port to the individual camera sensors. Fairphone and iFixit will make spare parts available, guaranteeing a truly sustainable and repairable ecosystem. The removable back also allows you to add modular accessories such as the holder and Laccetti.

From the resistance point of view, Fairphone 6 boasts a certification IP55: although not among the highest degrees of protection, it is noteworthy considering the absence of glue in the joints. To this is added a software support program decidedly out of the ordinary: Seven years of Android updates, eight years of security patch and a five -year guarantee. All accompanied by a premium system designed to encourage the repair and longevity of the device.

On the technical specifications fronthowever, the sustainable approach imposes some compromise. The SOC is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7S Gen 3, a mid -range chip, flanked by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. The photographic sector is discreet.

The USB-C port also stops at the USB 2.0 standard, limiting reading and writing performance. Different speech for the screen: a 6.3 -inch OLED LTPO with dynamic refresh rate up to 120 Hzable to offer good visual experience.

Fairphone 6 is already available in Europe at the price of 599 euros.
