Interviewed in the “Giornale di Cantù”, the president of Acqua S. Bernardo Cantù, Roberto Allievi, took stock of the situation, starting from the renewal of Grant Basile: “Our idea was to confirm it. He is a boy on which we have invested a lot. We expect further growth in a more demanding championship, especially on a physical level”.
A comment also on the arrival of Bortolani: “We hope that it can demonstrate all its technical and athletic qualities”. And on the construction of the new team: “We have also confirmed Moraschini, De Nicolao and Okeke from which we expect a further step forward from the point of view of technical quality. Our idea is to start from these five Italians. I believe that the first five or six teams are out of reach for budget and quality. But we think we can say ours”.
On the future, the number one of Basketball Cantù is clear: “It will be very difficult, we will surely face a championship where there is an athleticism and a physicality that we are not used to. And therefore we will have to be good at getting used to. We will try to set up a team that can hold the impact”.
At the club level, Cantù is experiencing a positive moment: “The fact of having been promoted and having an arena of which some structures are already seen is very important. Cantù is returning to the center of basketball. All this means having a strong identity for the whole area. I was moved by seeing this great participation. In the final I saw 6500 spectators Canturini and I received messages from all over Italy and also from abroad. They show that the story of Cantù has not been forgotten.
