Alex Rins, Jack Miller face the tire hell: Yamaha’s MotoGP battle explodes.

Alex Rins and Jack Miller do not use minor terms when it comes to the challenges they are facing in the MotoGP circuit. The duo is fighting against a persistent problem of overheating the rear tire that hinders the progress of Yamaha in the races.

Despite Fabio Quartararo’s pole position in Assen, the official team had a difficult Sunday, with Quartararo who managed to conquer only the tenth place in the Grand Prix. Rins, which was involved in the chaos of the first lap, concluded little behind 13th place, with Miller who followed him to wheel.

Rins expressed its frustration, stating that even without the initial counterattack, the final result would have been the same because of the continuous problem of overheating the rear tire. He highlighted the difficulty of managing the bike with a maximum angle of inclination, with the electronics that cannot control the slipping effectively.

“It is as difficult as a pilot to manage this because you cannot avoid slipping,” has complained about Rins. He stressed that, while other drivers and manufacturers also face similar problems, they are better at managing overheating and slipping with their electronics.

Jack Miller, competing for Pramac Yamaha, shared the feelings of Rins, recognizing the challenge of maintaining grip once the motion reaches its limits. He underlined the need to find greater rear grip to improve the performance on the track.

With the next round in Sachsenring on the horizon, Miller expressed hope that the characteristics of the track can work in their favor, in particular in terms of curvature ability. Although the power is not the main concern, Miller highlighted the importance of having a power that can be used to maintain the bike inside the optimal GRIP interval.

The trio of Rins, Quartararo and Miller concluded in close proximity to Assen, while Oliveira was unable to complete the race after suffering damage in the accident of the first lap. The Yamaha team is now concentrated in solving the problem of overheating tires to ensure stronger performance in the next races.
