Superman, David Corenswet reveals that wearing that costume made him claustrophobic

David Corenswet shared his difficulties in wearing Superman costume on the set, made to measure even before his training.

To go down in the guise of a hero loved for some for some it can be a real nightmare. David Corenswetfor example, confessed that he was not a fan of the stage costume of his Superman. Coming to the cinema with a first chapter of the DCU, Superman will introduce a first phase of the new universe of superheroes and will do so with David Corenswet. The latter, however, in a recent interview has confessed all the disadvantages of wearing such an important stage costume.

Directed by James GunnSuperman will introduce numerous DC characters on the big screen, then offering the opportunity to continue along that road. Flanked by Rachel Brosnahan e Nicholas HoultDavid Corenswet introduced a new phase of Clark Kent on the big screen wearing a costume other than the previous ones. To the microphones of Peoplethe actor confessed to having feared the fitting moment of the costume, especially during the bathroom breaks: “There are many hinges, but there is not a single that allows me to go to the bathroom, which might think it is quite simple, but there is nothing simple in these things”.

Adapting the costume to make it easily removable was not feasible, according to the actor, due to the costs to be faced. Despite the difficulties, his experience was not all in all torture: “I had the most extraordinary costume designer that could be desired, Scotty, who was a kind of, I don’t know, looked like a mafia repairer. […] He invented apologies for me I needed it, and we became very good together to wear and remove the suit, so he did it quite quickly, and I could take breaks if I needed it during the daybefore the hard training followed to become Clark Kent, so they had not taken into account the 18 kilos of muscles: “Actors who interpret superheroes are heard about how difficult it is to enter the suits; I, wearing it, tried a sort of claustrophobia the first time, just because I felt forced in all those points at the same time”.
