Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain opened negotiations that would result in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia going to the French capital club, and in return, defender Milan Skriniar would join the Neapolitan team. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Azzurri want to receive 80 million euros (around R$500 million, at current prices) to sell the Giorgian.

The obstacle in the negotiations is the high salary that the Slovak defender receives in the Parisian team. On the other hand, Kvaratskhelia would receive four times more than what he receives at the Italian club and has a contract valid for another two years, running until June 2027. The southern Italian team wants to renew the player’s contract.

Over the past few years, the striker’s father and agent have made statements calling for his departure from Napoli. The player welcomes a departure from the Neapolitan club during the January window.

On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain is looking for a player to be the protagonist of its squad since Mbappé’s departure. The Parisian club leads the French Championship, but occupies only 25th place in the Champions League league stage, and is at risk of being eliminated from the competition.

Napoli is enjoying a great recovery campaign and leads the Italian Championship, with 44 points, having played one game more than Atalanta and two more than Inter Milan, its two main competitors. Kvaratskhelia is one of the team’s greatest idols and was the highlight of the Serie A title campaign in the 2022/2023 season.
