There are many anecdotes that Al Bano can draw from his long life journey and as an artist with a capital L. What perhaps not everyone knows, however, is that the Cellino San Marco singer also experienced several hard and dramatic moments during his existence, from the death of his daughter Ylenia to the separation with his ex-partner Romina Power.

In his latest autobiography, the singer retraces the drama of that difficult period, also focusing on a disturbing detail of a man who impersonated death and held out his hands towards him, met during the family trip. The Apulian artist refers precisely to that last summer spent with Ylenia, when they wanted to travel America in a camper.

Well, having stopped in New Mexico, Al Bano had a rather particular meeting. “A guy impersonating Death came towards me, walking on stilts. He held out his hands and said, “I get you.” Instinctively, as an Apulian, I replied by making horns,” Al Bano revealed in his book.
