Prato – A new agreement with the University of New Haven and the USL Toscana Center for training courses at the Prato Hospital to strengthen their mutual commitment in the training of healthcare personnel.
The new agreement was signed in recent days.
Founded in 1920 on the campus of Yale University in cooperation with Northeastern University as the New Haven YMCA Junior College, UNH has grown to host approximately 100 undergraduate and graduate programs at two state campuses in New Haven and Orange. of Connecticut.
In 2012, UNH opened its satellite campus in Prato, bringing its international educational experience to Italy. Since then, the university has worked actively to promote collaboration with local institutions, with the aim of enriching the educational experience of students and staff.
Since 2018, UNH has undertaken a fruitful collaboration with the USL Toscana Centro Company, which has now led to the signing of the new agreement which regulates the attendance of American students at the Company’s healthcare facilities, with the aim of promoting “Experiential” activities Education” through a practical approach to training.
The educational training path envisaged by the agreement includes classroom sessions alternating with periods of “observational attendance” which will take place, starting from the month of May, at the Prato Hospital.
“This collaboration represents a significant step in our mission to provide a comprehensive and future-oriented education to our students” – said Kevin Murphy, Director of the New Haven Prato Campus – we are very happy to work together with the USL Toscana Centro Company – he added – to offer students an educational experience that prepares them for real world challenges also through knowledge of the operational contexts of other healthcare systems”.
The USL Toscana Centro company welcomed this partnership, recognizing the value of the contribution of university students from other countries in the exchange of experiences for training purposes.
“The agreement with the University of New Haven represents an opportunity that we believe can also have positive impacts on our healthcare professionals and offer further spaces for future collaborations”, commented the General Director, Valerio Mari.
